A former music producer has launched a new career with the help of Staffordshire Jobs and Careers Service.

Josh Gledhill was introduced to the service in September 2024, having completed a 10-week data analytics course.

He was eager to gain experience in his new field and through the service’s Open Door programme advisers set Josh up with a 12-week placement with the council’s economy and skills team.

He then secured a job as a data analyst with the authority’s highways department.

Josh said: “If you’re like me, unsure about your next step or needing experience to boost your CV, get in touch with Staffordshire Jobs and Careers Service.

“It was genuinely one of the best experiences of my working life and that’s saying something given my previous career.”

Martin Murray, deputy leader and cabinet member for economy and skills at Staffordshire County Council, said: “Ensuring people can secure good jobs and start fulfilling careers is priority for the council.

“The Staffordshire Jobs and Careers Service is a great resource for anyone with a career change, to develop their skills or find a job.

“And when you combine this with our Open Door programme, which offers valuable work experience, you have a real recipe for success.”

The service provides advice on jobs, careers, training and learning opportunities in Staffordshire.
