The event offered students the chance to explore a wide range of apprenticeship routes, from traditional trade roles through to highly technical and emerging professions within the built environment.
With interactive displays, live demonstrations and expert guidance available throughout the day, attendees were able to gain a real understanding of what a career in construction can offer.
It’s a special occasion when employers and students from across Birmingham and the West Midlands come together to discuss, collaborate and share opportunities for the benefit of all.
Birmingham City University were proud to sponsor the recent Ladder for Greater Birmingham’s Construction Careers Fair at Millennium Point, a showcase of current and future opportunities available in this exciting industry across the region.
With current skills gaps in the construction and built environment, Birmingham City University are playing a lead role in ensuring that these are filled by talented, driven and passionate new employees.
Danny Pardoe, Apprenticeships Growth Manager for the School of Architecture, Built Environment, Computing and Engineering, adds: “There is such variety in roles, and enthusiasm from young people across the West Midlands, that the future of the industry looks bright.
“We’re proud to play a pivotal part in working with schools, colleges, training providers and businesses across the region to ensure that this enthusiasm is capitalised on to enable these industries to flourish.”
