Performance Management – Getting It Right, organised by Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership, a funder of the Ladder for Greater Birmingham, will be held at the Village Hotel Walsall in Tempus Drive on June 20.
Running from 9:30am to 1:30pm, the event is aimed at business owners, leaders, HR and operations managers, and team leaders to understand how to support their staff and the tools they could use to do so.
The organisers write: Performance management is an effective tool that can be used to increase both individual and overall team achievements.
However, not all managers have the skills and knowledge in the right way to utilise this powerful tool, with employees seeing it as a means of punishment rather than a method of support.
This session will outline the performance management process, how businesses can use it effectively to support both individuals and teams to elevate their work, and the skills needed by line managers to set clear objectives and subjectively measure performance against them.
Gain perspectives from an employment lawyer and a HR specialist, allowing businesses to understand both viewpoints and how they converge and differ.
Following the speaker-led session and refreshments, roundtables will be held on mental health and wellbeing, and hybrid working policies.
The roundtables will be facilitated by members of the Skills Service and enable businesses to discuss these topics that have been identified as being as concerns for businesses.
The event will be followed by lunch with time for networking and sharing ideas, thoughts and contacts.
